Your mission

About the job

Rombit is looking for a Senior Accountant with a passion for innovation, technology, and digitization. In this role, you form a team with the CFO and with both the controllers on the one hand and with the administrators and junior accountant on the other hand in bridging the financial flows that run in the 3 separate businesses

By (co-)creating innovative and sustainable digital products, we help our clients create value and make their organization future-proof using IoT technology.
At the moment the group is growing in 3 main businesses and expanding rapidly with both organic products (own products and services) as with acquisitions, we are looking to strengthen our central finance team with an experienced Senior Accountant to act as the financial pivot for further growth.

Whereas many companies outsource of their accounting activities, we plan to go the opposite way as we gradually take over some tasks from the external accounting team to increase management insight and improve accounting (and approval) processes. NetSuite (Oracle) is currently being implemented and will be
instrumental as the administrative backbone.

A minimum of 5 years of professional experience would be desirable. You’ll be part of a dynamic and ambitious team and will have close contact with the operations.

Your
responsibilities

  • As the primary interface, your team will liaise with the (outsourced) accounting team to manage the day-to-day bookkeeping process. Given that we are internalizing our accounting information, this is the right moment to come on board;
  • You will head the admin team that is responsible for the management of the approval flow and accounting of purchase invoices, You will take care of the proper accounting treatment while keeping a close eye on the correct linkage with our operational ERP systems for the proper treatment of our sales invoices;

  • You are a key contributor to the VAT declaration of the VAT Group;
  • You are ensuring that some key procedures are adhered to and that controls are functioning properly while the company continues growing; you are involved in the start of new document flows and help to lay the foundation for a future-proof controlling environment;
  • You will maintain ad hoc contacts with suppliers and share information with regard to the outstanding (aged) receivables of customers;
  • While the controllers do work on monthly management reporting, your role will be to pick up the quarterly consolidated financial statements as well;
  • You are not frightened by the (possible) future shift towards IFRS accounting and could have to deal with more technical journal entries. The finance team will support you but ideally, you could be interested in following some additional training if required.
